Dr. Wright joined NeuroPhage Pharmaceuticals as Director of Manufacturing in March 2008. Prior to NeuroPhage, Dr. Wright was Head of CMC at Cambridge Antibody Technology, Inc. (a subsidiary of AstraZeneca) based in Palo Alto, CA. Prior to the acquisition of MedImmune by AZ, Jason led multi-disciplinary CMC project teams (split between Palo Alto and Cambridge, UK) for CAT’s oncology programs in clinical and pre-clinical development. Jason oversaw numerous contractor relationships geared towards the production and release of clinical trials materials. Prior to joining CAT in 2006, Jason was at Rinat Neuroscience Corporation, South San Francisco, CA. He was the CMC team leader for their Alzheimer’s and pain therapeutic mAb candidates and oversaw all CMC activities related to these compounds prior to the acquisition of Rinat by Pfizer. Before concentrating on Technical Operations, Jason established and managed the Fermentation and Cell Culture Development group at Rinat, a team comprising Molecular Biology, Cell Culture and Fermentation disciplines. He has worked in the UK with Murex Ltd (now Abbott) and in Germany with Boehringer Mannheim GmbH (now Roche) and Bayer AG. Dr. Wright gained a PhD in Cellular Biotechnology from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL) in 2001. He holds an MSc in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Glasgow and a BSc (Hons) in Process Biotechnology from the University of Teesside.
